UBUNTU 8.04 Hardy Heron - Alpha 5

To all UBUNTU lovers, its great that we are one more step closer to the hard baked HARDY due this Aug. So here comes the Alpha 5 in the schedule.

New Features In Alpha 5

A new feature in Alpha 5 is WUBI, a windows installer for Hardy so that you can install Hardy from the comfort of Windows :)

Are We Done Yet???

So how close are we to the final release, in terms of code progress? Well, we are actually doing very good. Out of 45 targeted bugs-fixes for Hardy Alpha 5, more than 95% have been fixed and confirmed. Have a look here. The proposed schedule is here.



Wanna try a piece of cake???

So, wanna get your hands dirty? Actually its very simple. Do any one of the following:

1. Update your existing Gusty (7.10) install to Hardy Alpha 5 this way. Just backup all your important data, open terminal, and run "sudo update-manager -d"
2. Download a fresh CD image from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/hardy/alpha-5/
